PRIORITIZING TASKS IN YOUR PLANNER

When customizing your planner, it is important to give each section of your layout a purpose. This will help you better organize your thoughts & plans. Adding a section for Priorities is a helpful way to figure out what tasks are more important than others. Here are some tips & tricks to use when having to sort through and pick which tasks should be prioritized.

Simply follow these four options: Do, Defer, Delegate, Delete.

• DO: Complete the task now

• DEFER: Complete it later or after your priorities are done

• DELEGATE: Assign this task to someone else

• DELETE: Simply remove from your list

Below are some ways we've incorporated Priorities into our planners. Once you figure out where each custom section lives in your layout, its time to start planning! Remember, each planner can be truly customized by you so feel free to be creative.

M-A-E

M-A-E stands for Morning, Afternoon & Evening. You can use those original headers or you can also customize this layout with sections that help you prioritize & organize your day!

Here we've split the day into a Priorities Section, Work Section, & Home Section. This is a great layout to create a space for priorities each day. Setting up this layout this way works well for those who need a little more space for priorities, and do not need to divide their day into too many sections.

VERTICAL PRIORITIES

Our Vertical Priorities layout is set up perfectly for optimal prioritization! We've implemented this by categorizing the top section of each week for our priorities. Use the rest of the space below for other to-do list items or memos that need to be noted.

Need to prioritize two separate areas of your life? Use the two top sections for just that! Customize one to say "Work Priorities" and the other to say "Home Priorities". The rest of the space below is left open for whatever else your day brings.

HORIZONTAL PRIORITIES

This layout is great when you have to highlight one or two tasks that absolutely need more attention. You can also have a to-do list running down the side for tasks that need to get done but aren't as urgent as the ones that are prioritized. We love this layout for those who need that horizontal space to write, but can still highlight some important things for their day!

THE DAILY

Looking at everything you need to accomplish in a day can be overwhelming. Luckily, the Daily Layout has many sections for you to customize so you can organize it in a way that best makes sense for your lifestyle. This layout has a top section each day that is the perfect space for the day's priorities. This way you can easily see what three things absolutely need to get done each day!

HOURLY

Even if your schedule needs to be more strict & timed out, our Hourly Layout still provides a space for you to prioritize tasks at the bottom! Use this space to help you remember what items are non-negotiable to get done. Use the rest of the column to tackle that daily schedule.

Remember, when customizing the inside of you planner, it is important to note what works for you. Everyone's day is different so create Headers & Sections that help you conquer your day!
